I thought literary translation was my absolute favourite. But turns out there’s something I enjoy even more: translating drama & screenplays. The other day I translated a radio play from German into English, and it was a lot of fun. I’d love to try a film script, too. In a script, the length of the sentences would have to be considered in the translation, but I can do that: I’ve translated quite a few commercials and videos.
Now I can only hope to translate another script soon (or a radio / audio / theatre play, performance, something with a lot of dialogue). Translating a musical would be the great: I love translating songs often, and the combination with a play would be perfect. Let’s see what 2019 brings!
